Haiku Friday #2: Crappy week

Haiku Friday

Husband is busy
Baby refuses to sleep
These make me grouchy

Bureaucrat bullshit
Three days ago, then next day
A speeding ticket

How can my sister
Cry her way out of one?
It's happened twice now.

Yet another job
That might as well be performed
By ruthless robots

For all the pity
And compassion I receive
From each cop I've met.

Today was better
Until my husband came home
(Just kidding, sweetheart).

Oh, well, at least I got a break while my mom watched the baby today. He took three naps today! But they each lasted 25, 35, then 15 minutes. Look at the time of this post. He literally went down 10 minutes ago. And that after staying up late last night. Grrrr. Argh. (Points if you know what that's from.)

But blogging always makes me feel better after he's gone to sleep (actually, they both are -- Brandon has another sub job in the morning), especially because the kitties take advantage of my empty lap.

Haiku Friday is fun, people! Look how much I saved on therapy this week. :) But really, come and play. Check out more haiku at Christina's blog, leave comments, click around archives, spread the bloggy love!

Oh, and on a completely unrelated note, I am looking for a new blog design (not that I don't like this one, but it's a little dull for me). I may be experimenting with these in the next week or so. Be sure to stop by early and often and let me know what you think!

Fun haiku, and I have never gotten out of a speeding ticket. Of course, it's been many years since I've tried.

Elle

cool haiku
wow those short naps are killer

Amanda

Somehow I can picture Sara getting out of tickets....but I can't say I've personally had that experience. I think I might write a Haiku at work later in my boredom.

Honey Mommy

Blogging is great therapy for me too.

I have gotten out of a speeding ticket before... but just once! I have received two speeding tickets, but that was before I got married.

Wayfaring Wanderer

I wish I could cry my way out of a speeding ticket! It's been a while since I've gotten on though.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Storytellin' Mama

Yeah... I have four and one of my daughter's was not the greatest sleeper(still isn't at almost four).

Hope you get some rest!

Mel

Maggie: Thanks! With my previous tickets (this was the second), I was just nervous and couldn't talk my way out of them -- even though this time I tried to tell the officer that we really can't afford one (I was even on my way to the WIC clinic at the time). Hopefully I won't have any more opportunities soon. :)

Elle: Yes they are... thanks for the sympathy.

Amanda: Yeah, once she cried, and the other time she "ditzed" her way out ("Oh really? I had no idea... I was singing Carrie Underwood....")
If you wanna participate in the game click on the picture and Christina's blog tells you how you can read other haiku and get your haiku read by others. It's a lot of fun!

Honey Mommy: This was my first ticket since marriage and baby. I was hoping to put that milestone off, but no such luck. :)

Wayfaring Wanderer: My sister has a "gift"... see the comment I left for Amanda.

Laura: He slept for an hour longer than usual last night and has so far been down for nap #1 for the day for about 45 minutes! Yay! Thanks for the encouragement. :)

Melissa

I've never gotten out of one, either.

And I'm a sub, too. It was a totally scary experience seeing what really goes on in the schools. I transferred my kids this year to one school that I subbed at that I just love!

Mel

Melissa: Hopefully he'll be able to use the places he's subbed at these last six months to get an in somewhere for student teaching, and then hopefully get a job offer for the 09-10 school year. That's the plan, anyway!

ya ya's mom

bummer about your speeding ticket! thanks for visiting my haiku friday!

Mel

Ya ya: Thanks for the sympathy, and for your visit as well!
